The U.S. Department of Transportation will host its Roadway Safety Innovation Expo on Friday, Sept. 18, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at USDOT headquarters in Washington, D.C.

The event will bring together transportation officials, safety advocates and industry stakeholders to examine emerging technologies designed to prevent fatalities and serious injuries across the nation’s transportation system.

USDOT Secretary Sean Duffy will deliver the keynote address, and Federal Highway Administrator Sean McMaster will serve as master of ceremonies. Invited members of Congress are also expected to participate.

The expo will feature interactive demonstrations, safety simulators and other technologies presented by agencies across USDOT, including the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, Federal Highway Administration and National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Representatives from the department’s rail, transit and pipeline safety agencies will also participate.

The event is expected to draw state transportation officials, transportation associations, students, members of the media and other industry representatives.

The Roadway Safety Innovation Expo will be held at USDOT headquarters, 1200 New Jersey Ave. SE, Washington, D.C. Registration is required.
