Peterbilt of Atlanta announced this week that it has acquired the assets of Fitzgerald Peterbilt’s four Alabama locations, including dealerships in Birmingham, Huntsville, Montgomery and Gadsden.

This acquisition is a significant milestone for Peterbilt of Atlanta’s continued growth and strengthens its presence in Alabama. In conjunction with the acquisition, the companies will merge under a new name, Pearson Peterbilt Group, reflecting its expanded footprint and commitment to serving customers in Georgia and Alabama.

“We are honored to have reached this agreement with the Fitzgerald family. They have built a highly respected organization with outstanding employees and a strong reputation for serving customers throughout Alabama. We are grateful for the opportunity to continue that legacy,” says Scott Pearson, President of Pearson Peterbilt Group.

“This acquisition is a natural fit for the Pearson Peterbilt Group family. As we expand our presence into Alabama, we believe it is the right time to evolve our identity as well. The transition from Peterbilt of Atlanta to Pearson Peterbilt Group reflects our growth while maintaining the values, customer focus and commitment to excellence that have defined our organization for years.”

The acquisition will enhance the company’s ability to provide industry-leading truck sales, parts, service and support across the region. Company officials say customers will continue to receive the exceptional service and support they have come to expect, with a seamless transition and continued focus on maximizing customer uptime and success.

“We look forward to growing the Peterbilt brand throughout Alabama and investing in these communities, our employees and our customers. We are excited to welcome the team members and customers from Birmingham, Huntsville, Montgomery and Gadsden into the Pearson Peterbilt Group family,” says Pearson.
