Mark’s passion is sharing the powerful stories of the dedicated men and women who deliver for every Alabama community, and he never misses the opportunity to promote careers in trucking as a wonderful opportunity for job seekers of all ages and backgrounds.
As Alabama’s top executive for trucking, he travels across the state and country building relationships that grow and foster the industry’s mission while enhancing its public image from the truck cab and shop floor to the corner office. He also works closely with policymakers in Montgomery and Washington D.C. to ensure they understand the essential part trucking plays in the global supply chain and its tremendous impact on the state’s economy and the daily lives of all Alabamians.
Prior to leading the Alabama Trucking Association, Mark advocated for Alabama’s business community serving various leadership roles at the Business Council of Alabama (BCA), Alabama’s state chamber of commerce, including Interim President, Senior Vice President of Governmental Affairs, and Chief of Staff.
Mark is a regular media commentator on transportation related topics. His service to the trucking industry reaches far beyond Alabama through his roles on the American Trucking Associations Strategic Priorities Committee and TRUCK PAC Board of Directors as well as with the American Transportation Reseach Institute’s (ATRI) Research Advisory Committee.
He’s a graduate of Huntingdon College and Troy University (MBA). Forever a Hawk, he serves as a member of the Huntingdon College Board of Trustees (Secretary) and Executive Committee and was inducted into the Huntingdon Athletics Hall of Fame (Football). He is a member of the board of directors for the ATA Comp Fund, Embrace Alabama Kids, the FFA Foundation, Business Council of Alabama, and the Alabama Association of Independent Colleges and Universities. Mark is an alumni of the American Council of Young Political Leaders (2018 Egypt—Israel—Palestinian Territories delegation). He, his wife, Cody, and their daughter live in Montgomery, Alabama and are active members of First United Methodist Church.

She manages all correspondence with ATA members while promoting and administering various ATA and Safety & Maintenance Management Council (SMMC) events and programs.
Brandie holds a Bachelor of Science degree in commerce and business administration from the University of Alabama and an associate’s degree in business from Bevill State Community College (formerly Walker College).
She joined ATA in 2008 as an administrative assistant rising to member relations manager in 2018. Her current role includes growing ATA’s membership base and expanding membership participation and support of ATA and safety council events and programs. But she’s also the staffer for member retention and recruitment; member outreach; and Association and SMMC events coordination and management; and filing tariffs for household movers.
As a former Field Administrator for the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s Southern Region, Seymour has led safety programs and compliance systems for FMCSA in both Alabama and Georgia. Prior to his tenure with FMCSA, he had a successful career as an insurance executive. His background uniquely positions him to help ATA members not only improve compliance and reduce risk but also elevate profitability through better operational practices and employee development.
Susan recently retired from 25 years of teaching in Alabama and Georgia. She is a native of Greenville, Ala., and a graduate of Auburn University Montgomery where she acquired a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood & Elementary Education. She is happily married to Clinton, and they have two children Haley and Jacob. They reside in Auburn, Ala.
In her spare time, she enjoys baking, gardening, and relaxing at the lake or beach.

She later returned south, first to Birmingham and then to Montgomery, handling accounting and finance duties for several organizations, including most recently for the Business Council of Alabama where she served 15 years as its Director of Finance. She joined ATA in September 2019 bringing with hee significant experience and expertise to complement and bolster the talented ATA team.
York lives in south Montgomery with her husband, Barry, a construction inspector for the Montgomery Water Works. In their spare time, the Yorks enjoy watching the Auburn Tigers football team, gardening, traveling, reading and riding motorcycles.
He brings those skills and experiences to Alabama’s trucking industry.
Under the leadership of Alabama Trucking Association President and CEO Mark Colson, the association plans to utilize Vaughn’s extensive experience and knowledge to enhance and grow its brand messaging, membership engagement, strategic partnerships, and state and federal advocacy.

Today, that team just got even stronger. Josh is prepared to enhance our organization’s aggressive strategic plan which drives solutions for the issues facing the trucking industry.”

Vaughn owns and operates a small business specializing in marketing and design services with a diverse client list from across the Southeast.
Vaughn was raised in Alabama, attended Hewitt-Trussville High School, and graduated from Samford University in Birmingham. He has two sons, Gaines (11), and Cavender (6) reside in Pike Road and are members of Century Church.
