SMMC leaders cancel the group’s annual holiday party and officer installation
The Alabama Trucking Association’s Safety and Maintenance Management Council will not have a Christmas party or its end of the year officer election and installation ceremony next month, due to the coronavirus pandemic.
”Due to ongoing restrictions and recommendations for large gatherings, and in reaction to recent spikes in recent coronavirus cases statewide, the ATA Safety and Maintenance Management Council has elected to cancel its Annual Christmas Party that was to happen December 14 in Pelham,” the group announced Thursday in an email to members.
ATA Vice President of Safety and Compliance Tim Frazier said that in its place a virtual event to elect new SMMC officers and plan for 2021 events and meetings will be scheduled soon. More information on that will be available in the coming weeks.
