The next few months will be an exciting time for the trucking industry. Several key regulatory rulings are scheduled to take effect between now and January, including the final deadline for ELD technology, and the Fed’s new Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse.
To help you wade through the minutia, ATA’s Safety & Maintenance Management Council (SMMC) has scheduled a combined chapter meeting for Tuesday, Sept. 17, lining up top experts from state and federal regulatory agencies who will provide key updates on these important regulatory changes.
Scheduled to appear are several officials from the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, and the Alabama Dept. of Revenue to provide the latest information on regulatory guidance, roadside inspection data, and documentation requirements that drivers and motor carriers are required to maintain for complete safety compliance. Among the issues to be discussed are ELD, Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse, Roadside Inspection procedures, IFTA, UCR filings and Electronic document retention.
ATA and its SMMC have a solid working relationship with state and federal agencies, and it’s our goal to utilize this partnership to provide members with current, high-quality information straight from those who know best.
