Work continues to move forward on the proposed Mobile River Bridge project, and in recent weeks, the discussion has taken some interesting twists. A July 27th meeting of area MPOs revealed the Alabama Dept. of Transportation is no longer considering using a “truck-only” toll to fund the initial phases of the project, but will also allow other vehicles to use the bridge at a $2 toll. To discuss our next steps, ATA leaders will hold an in-person Town Hall Meeting on September 1, from 11 a.m. to 1:15 p.m., at the Original Oyster House – Mobile Causeway location. All ATA members and industry stakeholders are invited to attend this meeting to express their concerns about the project and to help formulate our strategy going forward.
