The Mississippi Dept. of Public Safety’s Driver Service Bureau (DSB) is currently experiencing a statewide database outage due to a recent system upgrade. The outage is affecting operations at all DSB locations, causing significant delays for customers.  

According to DSB officials, “Our team is working closely with the system vendor to resolve these technical issues as quickly as possible.” In light of the outage, the Bureau is urging customers to delay their visits if possible. Those who must visit should prepare for extended wait times.  

The Alabama Trucking Association advises its members with drivers who hold Mississippi-issued Commercial Driver’s Licenses (CDLs) to ask those drivers to carry their DOT-issued medical cards at all times until the issue is fully resolved. Meanwhile, proactive communication has been made with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) and the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) to ensure all parties remain aligned during this process.

DSB has assured customers that it is working with state and local partners to address any issues involving expired licenses or credentials during this period.
