Gov. Ivey issues State of Emergency ahead of Subtropical Storm Alberto

Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey has issued a State of Emergency ahead of Subtropical Storm Alberto’s expected landfall within the next 24 hours — and thus relaxing hours-of-service rules for carriers hauling relief supplies to areas affected by the storm. The waiver is effective for 30 days. Download the governor’s proclamation here: https://bit.ly/2IPhbUd

As of Sunday evening, Alberto is not expected to strengthen into a hurricane, but could pose dangers across the Southeast with widespread heavy rain, damaging winds, possible isolated tornadoes and storm surge flooding.
