Some jokes write themselves. A Dunkin’ truck hauling a trailer full of donuts, coffee, and other law enforcement breaktime staples broke down in front of the Pelham Police Department in Pelham, Ala. over the weekend, and the Internet didn’t disappoint.

Even the official Pelham Police Department Facebook account made light of the sticky situation, posting the following:

“We’re not saying officers responded faster than usual…but when a truck full of donuts is involved, you don’t take any chances.”

Thankfully, a commercial vehicle wrecker was quickly dispatched to get things moving before any donuts were detained as evidence.

A Pelham Police spokesman later sought to glaze the situation over, stating, “No donuts were harmed during this incident.”

Well played, PPD, well played.
