The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) has announced two planned lane closures as part of ongoing construction efforts. Motorists are advised to plan accordingly and exercise caution in the affected areas.

1. Lane Closure on US-280 Westbound (Jefferson County):
Starting at 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 22, weather permitting, the outside right lane of US-280 westbound will be closed between Milepost 2.0 and Milepost 2.5 for asphalt patching. All lanes are expected to reopen by approximately 6 a.m. on Friday, May 23.

2. Closure on I-59 Southbound Rest Area (St. Clair County):
Beginning Tuesday, May 27, the southbound rest area on I-59 at Milepost 167.4 (Ashville) will be closed around the clock for repairs. This closure will remain in effect until Friday, May 30.
