The Alabama Trucking Association (ATA) proudly presented its highest annual honor, the H. Chester Webb Award for Distinguished Service, to Birmingham business leader and industry veteran Susan Kirkpatrick of Buddy Moore Transportation during the 2025 Alabama Trucking Convention, held at the Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort in Destin, Fla.

The award, which recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to the trucking industry in Alabama, as well as the community they serve, was presented by last year’s recipient, Tim Frazier, a senior advisor for ATA.

Frazier, in his remarks, reflected on the honor of receiving the Webb Award and highlighted the profound impact of this year’s recipient. “The H. Chester Webb Award represents the pinnacle of leadership, safety, and service in our industry,” he said. “Tonight’s honoree, Susan Kirkpatrick, embodies everything this accolade stands for.”  

Kirkpatrick, a member of one of Alabama’s most influential trucking families, has dedicated her life to the industry and exemplifies strong, trailblazing leadership. Before co-founding the highly respected flatbed operation Buddy Moore Transportation with her late father, Buddy Moore, and brother Buck Moore, she spent two decades in high-level management positions in the banking sector, where she honed her exceptional leadership and business acumen.  

Kirkpatrick’s impactful contributions have earned her well-deserved recognition. Honored as one of AL.com’s “Women Who Shaped the State,” she was also recently inducted into the Alabama Trucking Foundation TITANS, an elite group of industry champions who commit time and financial resources to programs that promote the industry in workforce development and public relations. These and other accolades highlight her passion and commitment to supporting and giving back to the trucking community.

The H. Chester Webb Award for Distinguished Service is a testament to Kirkpatrick’s legacy of excellence, commitment, and vision for the future of trucking.
