Alabama truck driver takes part in White House’s 4th of July festivities

Darrien Hendersen, a Mobile, Ala.-based truck driver for J&M Tank Lines was a guest of President Trump as part of the White House’s “Salute to America” Independence Day celebration.

You may recall Henderson was a finalist for the National Tank Truck Carriers 2019-2020 Professional Tank Truck Driver of the Year award. He also was featured in our Thank A Trucker media campaign last spring, which sought to raise public awareness to the heroic efforts of truck drivers to keep the economy moving during the early days of the COVId-19 pandemic.

“Our members and drivers are continuing to keep our nation moving despite the challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic,” said ATA President and CEO Chris Spear. “While we as a country take time to celebrate our freedoms today, we appreciate that Americans – from the president on down – are continuing to recognize our industry’s important role in supporting our frontline responders, while continuing to deliver to stores, homes and markets across the country.”

ATA in conjunction with the American Trucking Associations stepped up its efforts to help provide drivers with programs to provide sanitizer and face during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
