It’s a question we’re asked every day by prospective members. The short answer is, “The Alabama Trucking Association protects and promotes your interest, while giving you insight and information to help your business thrive and grow.”
Since 1938, we have provided a unified voice for trucking operations by supporting favorable laws, rules and regulations and by opposing those that are harmful or detrimental to Alabama trucking. We’ve also worked tirelessly to make our industry safer and our image stronger through advocacy and training.
We make sure you’re kept in the loop on the most recent changes and events affecting trucking. As a member, you receive our award-winning Alabama Trucker magazine and regular legislative bulletins, as well as special industry information briefs (safety and regulatory updates, etc.).
By attending the Association’s Annual Convention and other get-togethers, you can network with those who share the same interests and concerns. For instance, ATA’s Safety & Maintenance Management Council’s monthly education programs and its sponsored events, like the Annual Truck Driving Championship give you the chance to participate in activities benefiting your company’s operation.
As a dues paying member of ATA, you can also protect your bottom line. Members are eligible to receive discounted rates on Workers’ compensation benefits through ATA’s Workers’ Comp Self-Insurance Fund; discounted shipping rates from United Parcel Service; discounted prices on safety supplies and publications from J.J. Keller & Associates, Inc.; and online safety training for your employees from Vertical Alliance Group’s Infint-i programs.
As you can see, adding your company’s name to ATA’s roster can add a lot of advantages to your trucking business. Your dues are a wise investment in your company’s success.
