"What can the Alabama Trucking
Association do for my company?"
It's a question we're asked every day by prospective members.
The short answer is, "The Alabama Trucking Association
protects and promotes your interest."
Since 1938, we have provided a unified voice for trucking
operations by supporting favorable laws, rules and regulations
and by opposing those that are harmful or detrimental to Alabama
trucking. Recently, ATA was instrumental in passing legislation
that will reduce your fuel tax and Ad Valorem taxes on equipment.
We've also worked tirelessly to make our industry safer through
advocacy and training.
We make sure you’re informed about the most recent
changes and events affecting trucking. As member you receive
ATA's eNewsletter, our award-winning Alabama Trucker
magazine, regular legislative bulletins, and special information
briefs (safety and regulatory updates, etc.).
Meanwhile, by taking part or attending the Association's
Annual Convention and other meetings
and conferences, you can network with those who share your
interests and concerns about trucking. For instance, ATA’s
Safety & Maintenance Management Council’s monthly
education programs and its sponsored events, like the Annual
Truck Driving Championship provide additional activities benefiting
your company’s operation.
To help you to improve your company’s bottom line,
as a dues paying member of ATA, you are eligible to receive
discounted rates on Workers' compensation benefits through
ATA’s Workers' Comp
Self-Insurance Fund; group insurance programs provided
by Benefit
Choices; discount mail rates from United
Parcel Service; discounted prices on safety supplies and
publications; and long distance telephone rates provided by
DeltaCom.
As you can see, adding your company's name to ATA’s
roster can have a positive effect on your bottom line. Think
of your dues as an investment in your company’s success.
But perhaps the most important thing the Alabama Trucking
Association can do is to help you be successful.
